Student Profile Services provides informative, interesting stories that encourage and recognize the extracurricular activities of young people.
The profiles are written by Rick L. Johnson, author of three books for young readers published by Dillon Press/Macmillan Publishing Company. Johnson, a University of Kansas School of Journalism graduate, is a former Sports Editor and a past winner of a Kansas Press Association award for newspaper column writing.
The student’s individual story can be used on a personal or family web site, or it can be designed for use on a team web site. Either format provides an attractive presentation to print and send to fans, relatives, and even college recruiters. In addition, quality writing in a journalistic style makes the profiles appropriate for submission to local newspapers, statewide publications, and national web sites.
Individuals or booster clubs generally fund the service.
Rave Reviews of Rick Johnson's Work:
From the wife of All-American Basketball Player Clyde Lovellette:
Dear Rick,
Just wanted to let you know that of all the articles that have been written about Clyde, yours was right up there in the top 10 best. So many of them get the facts and figures only half right. But your article was concise, factual, and especially interesting.
Sincerely,
Judy J. Lovellette
From a Reader of Kansas Sports:
....your man Rick Johnson did a bang-up job on his yarn about our Dale Hall in the November edition of Kansas Sports. I gather that he did most or all of it by phone or mail, which makes it all the more admirable.
