Similar web services designed to publicize individual student-athletes cost $79 or more, and the parent or student must type in all of the information. Student Profile Services offers personalized stories, with coaches and students actually interviewed by a professional author. The cost is only $35 per profile when done as part of a team, or $40 when done singly.

Phone and other expenses are included in the price, and there is no tax on the service. Free photo insertion is offered if a picture is provided in a timely manner. Each profile, whether done for a team web site or singly, is approximately 200 words and focuses on the individual student.

All profiles are placed in a web page design. Individual stories about several members of a high school or college team are delivered in a web site format. This can be used as either a new team web site, or as an exciting, fresh attraction to an existing site.

For team web sites, the goal of Student Profile Services is to spotlight several members of a team or activity (not just two or three stars). If the group is too large to profile the entire roster, then a logical cut-off point should help determine the number of profiles. For example, pre-season profiles could include all returning lettermen or all returning starters. Profiles during the season could include regulars who are significantly contributing to the team. Post-season profiles might include all seniors, or all who received honors for their performance.

After stories are completed, the individual or the group representative will be given a password to an internet site to review the content. Following approval, the project can be delivered on a disk, or it can be transferred over the internet to the individual or to the team or school web server. (Alternatively, Student Profile Services can host the site at no extra charge, with a link on the school’s site taking the viewer directly to the site created by Student Profile Services.)

Once an individual or a representative from a group of parents or a booster club has paid for the service, the stories may be used in a multitude of ways—on web sites, as publicity releases, etc.—with Student Profile Services making no additional charge to any media using the profiles.
